This color palette is derived from the White Lined Sphinx (Hyles Lineata). This moth is larger than most others, moths are generally nocturnal but they are also spotted feeding by day. Sphinx moths can be easily mistaken for
hummingbirds because of their similar behavior of hovering around flowers and feeding on nectar. The larva, or caterpillar, can come in a range of colors with a large horn on it’s tail and a row of white spots that run down its sides. The under wings are a beautiful shaded magenta/pink color.
