This color palette is derived from the Common Cattail (Typha Latifolia). These tall, grasslike plants can grow reaching a height of 10 feet. Their root system is created by rhizomes which grow new shoots quickly. Cattails are found growing very close together and provide shelter for many residents of the marsh environment. All parts of the Cattail can be consumed. The leaves can be woven into baskets and mats, the fluffy seeds can be used as a stuffing for pillows, adhesive glue can be made from the stems and the pollen can be used sometimes in fireworks.
