This color palette is derived from Bittersweet (Celastrus Orbiculatus). This plant was initally introduced to stop soil erosion on roadsides and now it is known as an invasive species due to it’s fast growth rate and the damage it does to host plants.Vines of Bittersweet have beautiful orange pods that open to bright red berries which stand out against its leaves. The leaves turn a bright yellow in the fall, making it a warmer palette. Bittersweet is often used in holiday wreaths and decorations. Take caution though, all parts of the plant are poisonous.
